Driving Energy Efficiency
ICE Technology
Existing Building Management Systems have, generally, failed to fully optimize energy consumption. They lack control systems that can react instantly and automatically to anticipated changes in ambient weather conditions and the many other environmental variables typically associated with large buildings.
ICE communicates with the existing BMS and collects all important environmental data (e.g., inside and outside temperatures, humidity and solar radiation), along with data from key Building Plant (e.g., boilers, chillers and air handling units).
Over a period of 2-3 weeks, ICE then 'learns' the building's unique thermal footprint. ICE can then transmit reasoned and optimal start/stop times to the BMS, which in turn will minimize energy demand and consequently save the customer money.
The benefits of using ICE:
- Interoperability with all makes of BMS technology using industry protocols such as BACnet, LonWorks, ModBus, etc.
- Provides optimal start and stop times for boilers, chillers, AHU fans, VAV boxes, etc.
- ICE can achieve significant energy saving of between 9% and 15% of overall energy usage and up to 30% of gas consumption.
- Allows real-time observation and optimization of a building's existing control technology
- Easy-to-manage User Interface to measure, control and analyse energy savings data
